Influence of temperature and crosslinking agent taic dosage on the curing of tetrafluoroethylene-propylene

The effects of curing temperature and co-crosslinking agent triallyl isocyanurate(TAIC) on curing characteristics,tensile and swell properties of tetrafluoroethylene-propylene copolymer were studied by moving die rheometer,universal material testing machine and swelling experiment.


The results showed that TAIC had plasticizing effect on TFE-P and prolonged the flowing time of curing.


The crosslinking rate increased with the increase of temperature and TAIC dosage,and had a little change when TAIC powder was more than 5phr in the 1st step curing.Chain scission resulted in the decrease of crosslinking density during TFE-P curing.


The crosslinking density decreased with the increase of 1st step curing temperature.The increase of TAIC dosage can get higher crosslinking density,which changed very little when TAIC powder was more than 7.5phr.The 1st step curing temperature and TAIC dosage can control the crosslinking density,the tensile and swelling properties of the final curing compounds.
