The using method of coupling gent in coatings and adhesives

1、add directly into the system, mostly 0.3~3% of the paint and adhesives,1% is often used;

2、use as a primer,use solvent to first dilute, and add some resin, usually added in an amount of     2 ~ 5%;

3、As a comonomer or a blocking agent, the addition amount is obtained according to the process calculation;

4、As a surface treatment agent for pigments and fillers, the amount ranges from 0.3% to 3% according to the fineness and specific surface area of the pigment filler.

Typical use of coupling agents in paint and adhesives

Applicable to various thermosetting resins, polar resins as the main components of paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants, potting materials, etc., typical applications include:

1. Adhesives, sealants, potting glues and encapsulating materials for various thermosetting resins such as epoxy, silicone, poly-amino acid, polysulfide, phenolic, UV, acrylic, unsaturated resin;

2. Rubber adhesives such as nitrile and chloroprene, and various hot melt adhesives such as EVA and nylon;

3, epoxy, acrylic, polyester, alkyd, amino, UV, unsaturated resin, cellulose and other oily and water-based coatings, inks, such as glass baking varnish, anti-corrosion coatings, marine coatings, metal baking varnish, plastic packaging inks, etc. ;

4. Various types of powder coatings such as polyester and epoxy;

5, used in various primers for coatings and adhesives to improve the adhesion to the substrate;

6. It is used for thermal compounding of various metals with rubber, plastics and resins to improve the adhesion between them;

7. It is used to treat various inorganic pigments such as titanium dioxide and ultramarine and various fillers such as kaolin, silicon micro powder and talcum powder to improve the dispersion and reinforcement of pigments and fillers in the resin.
